Abacus Belsize Primary School admissions criteria for Reception 2022-23

Applications for Reception places at the school will be considered in accordance with the arrangements set out below.

If fewer applications are received than there are places available, all applicants will be offered a place. If the school is oversubscribed, after the admission of pupils with a Statement of Special Educational Needs where the school is named in the Statement/ EHC Plan, priority for admission will be given to those children who meet the criteria set out below, in order: 

Meetings for new parents

Reception parents meetings are arranged in the Summer and Autumn terms to give information about expectations for the Reception classes.

Notification of an offer of a school place

Parents will be sent a letter in April by Camden Council to notify them of an offer of a school place.

In-year admissions 

For in-year admissions, please contact the school office on admin@abacus.anthemtrust.uk. 

Please find attached below a copy of the in year admissions application for Camden and our school

You will then be invited to visit the school and discuss the application process and to check physical copies of your ID and proof of address

Appeals 

Appeals are set by Camden Council and happen during the month of July

You should submit your appeal within 21 days of receiving your refusal letter/email.

Primary Reception class admissions and appeals - 2022

•   19 April - notification of offers to parents and guardians
•   20 May - deadline for appeals to be submitted
•   27 June - 13 July - appeal hearings take place

These dates will be updated each year once they are set by Camden's admissions team. 

 

We offer school tours on the following dates. Tours take place at 9.30am. Please contact the office on admin@abacus.anthemtrust.uk, stating your preferred date.
